BluSky Trading Company Review 2026

The Quick Verdict
BluSky is the firm for traders who value process over speed. The four-stage path (Evaluation, Buffer, Sim Funded, Live Brokerage) takes longer than almost any competitor, and the consistency rules are stricter than most. In exchange you get some of the cheapest entry prices in futures prop trading (a 50K account from $59), genuinely daily payouts processed same-day before 11AM ET, no activation fees on the standard plans, free coaching, and a support team that reviewers praise more consistently than any firm we track. If you want to gamble one big day into a funded account, look elsewhere, and BluSky will tell you the same thing. If you want a firm that pays small, pays often, and pays reliably while you build, this is one of the strongest programs on our list.
Key takeaways:
- Six funding paths: Launch (from $59), Propel ($150 to $320), Orbit ($199 to $419), Instant Funded ($599), Direct 2 Funded ($749), and Stocks Intraday ($199 to $699)
- 90/10 profit split on the evaluation paths, with payouts every weekday, processed same day before 11AM ET, $250 minimum
- Four stages to live capital: Evaluation, BluLive/Buffer, Sim Funded, then Brokerage after a $10,000 profit review
- Consistency rules on nearly everything: 55% on Launch evals, 34% on Propel, 21% to 40% elsewhere; only Orbit evaluations run without one
- Weekly payout caps of $1,500 to $3,000 in the Sim Funded stage, removed once you reach live brokerage
- No activation fees on Propel and Orbit; Launch adds a $99 Launch Fee when you pass, stocks a $99 activation fee
How BluSky's Funding Journey Works
Most prop firms run one or two phases. BluSky runs four, and understanding them is the single most important thing before you buy, because the marketing terms (Buffer, Sim Funded, BluLive) confuse a lot of first time buyers.
Stage 1, the Evaluation, is the standard prop test: hit the profit target without breaching your drawdown, with a consistency rule capping how much of the target any single day can contribute. Launch and Propel evaluations have no time limit and no minimum days.
Stage 2, BluLive (also called the Buffer stage), is where BluSky differs from nearly everyone. You repeat the process at a 34% consistency rule, and the profit you earn here is not withdrawable. Instead it becomes the cushion in your funded account. Reviewers are split on this phase: some call it the reason BluSky funded accounts survive, others call it a second evaluation in disguise. Both are right.
Stage 3, Sim Funded, is where real money starts flowing. You begin with a starting balance built from your Buffer profits ($1,500 to $3,500 depending on account size) and a static drawdown that runs down to a $100 floor. Withdrawals are enabled immediately: no minimum trading days, $250 minimum payout, daily processing. Weekly caps apply ($1,500 to $3,000 by account size), and once your total profit including payouts crosses $10,000, you open a support ticket to request a Live Brokerage review. Note the fine print: crossing $10,000 without opening that ticket means the excess is not paid, so track your total.
Stage 4, Live Brokerage, is real capital through Tradovate or Sweet Futures, with the payout caps removed. The move is granted by BluSky’s Risk Team review rather than automatically, and this is the stage where the firm’s few serious complaints live, which we cover honestly in the review section below.
BluSky Launch Plans: The $59 Front Door
Launch is BluSky’s answer to the budget evaluation, and the pricing is real: $59 for a 50K, $69 for a 100K, $79 for a 200K Static. Two catches keep it honest. First, a $99 Launch Fee comes due the moment you pass the evaluation, so the true cost of a passed 50K Launch is $158, still cheap, but not $59. Second, the evaluation consistency rule is 55%, the strictest in BluSky’s lineup.
Who Launch suits: traders confident in their consistency who want the cheapest possible ticket into BluSky’s pipeline, and traders who expect to fail a few times first, since resets run just $49 to $69.
BluSky Propel Plans: The Standard Path
Propel is the plan most BluSky traders should probably buy. One time fees from $150 to $320, a 34% consistency rule from day one (looser than Launch’s 55%), no activation fee ever, and six account sizes split between Premium accounts with end of day trailing drawdowns (25K, 50K, 100K) and Static Growth accounts where the drawdown never moves (150K, 200K, 300K).
Two quirks worth knowing before you pick a size. The 150K Static is actually cheaper than the 100K Premium ($170 vs $220) because its $1,000 static drawdown is the tightest in the lineup relative to size: you are trading a bigger account on a shorter leash. And the 300K Static is the flagship oddity: a $20,000 profit target and a $5,000 drawdown, but the loosest consistency rule BluSky offers at 21%, which makes it the one evaluation where a couple of big days do most of the work.
On the smaller accounts, note that the Buffer stage repeats the full 6% target on the 25K and 50K (the larger accounts roughly halve it). Budget your expectations accordingly: passing a 50K Propel means making 6% twice under a 34% consistency rule.
BluSky Orbit Plans: Pass in a Day
Orbit is BluSky’s concession to traders who hate consistency rules. There is no consistency requirement in the evaluation at all, a one-day minimum, and BluSky markets it honestly… pass in as little as one day. The trade offs arrive after you pass. Orbit is the only plan with an expiration (30 days, and resets do not extend the clock), and the funded account is the strictest in the lineup: a trailing end of day drawdown instead of the static drawdown every other path gets, a 40% consistency rule on payouts, and a $0 displayed starting balance with a negative floor of $2,000 to $2,500 acting as your real drawdown.
Who Orbit suits: aggressive traders with a proven edge who want speed and will accept the tightest funded account BluSky offers to get it.
Instant Funded and Direct 2 Funded: Skip the Evaluation
BluSky sells two ways to skip the test entirely, and they are more different than the names suggest.
Instant Funded ($599) drops you into a 50K sim funded account with a $2,000 trailing drawdown that locks into a fixed $51,000 floor once your balance clears $53,000. Payouts come from profits above $53,000, capped at $2,500 per week. The split is 80/20, and you must trade at least once every 30 days or the broker may close the account.
Direct 2 Funded ($749) is a $3,500 static account, closer to a live-money simulation than a big sim balance. You get $2,500 of total drawdown above a $1,000 floor, a $2,000 daily loss limit, and a rule that exists nowhere else at BluSky: no more than 3 negative days in any rolling 10 traded days. A fourth fails the account. The split starts at 50/50 and improves to 80/20 after 30 trading days.
Here is the honest framing most reviews skip: neither of these accounts pays BluSky’s headline 90/10 split while sim funded. The 90/10 belongs to the evaluation paths. You are paying $599 to $749 for immediacy, and you accept a worse split and no resets in exchange. Both accounts still count toward the $10,000 threshold for a Live Brokerage review, where caps come off. For most traders, a Propel evaluation is better value; the instant paths make sense if your strategy is proven and your time is worth more than the split difference.
BluSky Stocks Intraday: The New Program
BluSky now funds stock traders, one of very few futures first firms to do it. The Stocks Intraday plans (2K, 4K, 7K) run two identical evaluation phases with a 30% consistency rule measured against the profit target, static drawdowns, and, uniquely at BluSky, a 30 trading day minimum per evaluation inside a 60 calendar day window. Where every futures path can theoretically be passed in days, stocks makes you prove a full month of discipline, twice.
The other structural difference: there is no sim funded payout stage. SEC rules prevent it, so after passing both phases and paying a one time $99 activation fee, you move to an actual brokerage account, where the 90/10 split and daily payout rules apply. You trade NASDAQ stocks and ETFs (AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, SPY, QQQ and the rest) during regular market hours, 9:30AM to 4PM ET, on Volumetrica or Tickblaze.
Who it suits: disciplined intraday equity traders who want a funded path without the pattern day trader capital requirement. Who it does not suit: anyone hoping to speed-run a funding challenge.
Payouts: What "Daily" Actually Means at BluSky
This is where BluSky earns its reputation. The mechanics, verified against the official payout rules:
- Payouts can be requested every weekday. Requests before 11AM ET process the same day; after 11AM, the next business day. Transfers land in 1 to 3 business days via Gusto or Rise Pay.
- $250 minimum withdrawal, and your account must sit at least $250 above its starting balance.
- No minimum trading days before your first payout, but you need one meaningful profitable day between payout requests.
- The split is 90% trader / 10% BluSky on the evaluation paths, at all times, unless changed by a Risk Team decision.
- Weekly payout caps apply in Sim Funded: $1,500 (25K, 150K), $2,500 (50K, 200K), $3,000 (100K, 300K), on a rolling 7 day window. Caps disappear in Live Brokerage.
- Two administrative rules that actually void money if ignored: payout onboarding must be completed within 30 days of submission, and any payout issue must be raised within 30 days, or the payout is voided. Non-US traders file a W-8BEN on first payout; US traders are paid on a 1099.
The caps deserve one honest sentence: a trader printing $2,000 days on a 100K account will feel the $3,000 weekly ceiling immediately, and several Trustpilot reviewers say exactly that. BluSky’s position is that caps exist until you prove out to brokerage. Factor it into your expectations, not your surprise.
Rules That Fail Accounts (Read This Twice)
- Consistency everywhere. 55% on Launch evals, 34% on Propel and all Buffer stages, 21% on the 300K and both instant paths, 40% on funded Orbit, 30% on stocks. A monster day does not fail you on the evaluation paths; it raises the effective target. On payout-stage accounts, it delays eligibility.
- Drawdowns vary by plan and stage. Premium evals trail end of day, Static evals never move, funded evaluation accounts convert to a static drawdown running to a $100 floor, Orbit funded and Instant Funded trail end of day until their lock points.
- Direct 2 Funded’s negative day rule. Three negative days per rolling ten traded days. The fourth closes the account.
- The $10,000 ticket rule. In Sim Funded, profit beyond $10,000 total is not paid unless you have opened a brokerage review ticket. Track your combined payouts plus balance.
- Broker denial risk. If the brokerage declines your live account application at stage 4, the account closes and simulated profits are forfeited. You must be legally eligible for a real brokerage account in your jurisdiction.
- Prohibited conduct is standard for the industry, no simultaneous opposite-direction positions on the same product, respect contract limits, one trade per month minimum to keep funded accounts active.
- Resets are cheap and structured: $49 to $69 on Launch, $79 flat on Propel, $99 to $119 on Orbit, $99 on stocks. BluLive resets start at $250 (rising $50 every third reset, and $500 if the account had already passed to Sim Funded). If your subscription renews on an already-failed evaluation, the reset is free.

What Traders Say: BluSky Trustpilot Review Analysis
BluSky Trading holds a lifetime TrustScore of 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 849 reviews, a profile it has claimed since October 2022. The company maintains a paid Trustpilot subscription and replies to 90% of negative reviews, typically within a month. That 4.7 is not a fluke of a small sample: it has held remarkably steady across four years of reviews.
Methodology: we analyzed a scrape of 692 BluSky Trustpilot reviews spanning October 2022 through early July 2026, with a focused analysis on the 200 most recent reviews (September 2025 through July 2026). Analysis run July 2026.
The Recent Numbers. The last 200 reviews average 4.79, slightly above the lifetime score, with roughly nine in ten awarding five stars and only six one-star reviews in the sample. For a firm now four years old, the trend line matters as much as the score: BluSky’s yearly averages have been stable to improving since 2023, which is the opposite of the decay pattern we see at firms that grow faster than their support desk. The single most mentioned topic in recent reviews, by a wide margin, is customer support, appearing in roughly seven of every ten reviews, followed by payouts and speed.
What Recent Reviewers Praise:
- Support, constantly and by name. About one in five recent reviews thanks a specific team member, with a handful of names (Neil especially, along with Michael, Rich, and Kevin) recurring for months. Reviewers describe fast chat responses, patient walkthroughs of Rithmic and NinjaTrader setup, and issues resolved same day. This is the most consistently praised support desk of any firm we cover.
- Payouts that behave as advertised. Payout mentions run overwhelmingly positive in the recent sample. The recurring description: request before 11AM, processed that day, in the bank within a day or two via Rise or Gusto. Several long-tenured reviewers describe dozens of uneventful payouts.
- Coaching, Discord, and second chances. Reviewers credit the free coaching, live streams, and Discord community with actually improving their trading, and several describe BluSky reinstating accounts after technical errors or edge-case rule breaches without charge, generosity few firms show.
- Rules that are strict but honored. A repeated theme among five-star reviews from experienced prop traders: the rules are harder than competitors, but BluSky follows them both ways.
What Recent Reviewers Complain About:
- The live brokerage transition. The most serious recent complaints involve the Risk Team review at stage 4: a small number of traders report accounts closed or live applications declined after taking sim payouts, with remaining simulated balances forfeited. This matches the forfeiture rule in BluSky’s own terms. It is rare in the sample, but it is the sharpest edge in the program, and if your plan is to reach live capital, understand that the final gate is discretionary.
- Process friction: the extra phase and the caps. Four-star reviewers, notably, not one-star ones, consistently name the same two gripes: the Buffer stage feels like paying for one evaluation and passing two, and the weekly payout caps pinch profitable weeks. These are design choices, not failures, but they are the trade-offs you accept.
- Dashboard bugs after the site migration. A cluster of late-2025 to mid-2026 reviews mention frozen dashboards and incorrect displayed statistics following BluSky’s platform migration, though nearly all note support resolved the issues, and these complaints sit inside otherwise positive reviews.
- A handful of dispute stories. A few one-star reviews describe rule violations the trader considered unfair or accounts closed while green. With 90% of negative reviews receiving company responses, both sides are usually visible on the profile; read them and judge.
Bottom Line on Reviews. BluSky’s review profile is among the healthiest in futures prop trading: a stable 4.7 across four years, negatives that cluster around understood design trade-offs rather than payment failures, and a support reputation competitors do not match. The genuine caution flag is concentration risk at the live brokerage gate, where discretion is real and the downside is forfeiture. Everything before that gate, the sample says, works the way BluSky claims.
Coaching, Community, and the Human Layer
BluSky’s Discord runs daily coaching sessions, live trade reviews, and market breakdowns at no charge, and the review data suggests traders actually use it: education mentions in reviews are uniformly positive, and more than one reviewer credits the coaching with the consistency habits BluSky’s own rules demand. For newer traders, this pairing is the quiet argument for BluSky: the firm that enforces consistency also teaches it, free.
Advantages and Considerations

Considerations:

- Consistency rules on nearly everything, including a 55% rule on the cheap Launch evals and 40% on funded Orbit
- Weekly payout caps of $1,500 to $3,000 until you reach brokerage
- The 90/10 headline does not apply to Instant Funded (80/20) or Direct 2 Funded (50/50 for 30 days, then 80/20)
- The live brokerage gate is a discretionary Risk Team review, and declined traders forfeit simulated balances
- Sim Funded accounts run tight: a $100 static floor beneath starting balances of $1,500 to $3,500
- The stocks program requires 30 minimum trading days per phase, twice
Conclusion: Is BluSky Trading Worth It?
BluSky pairs a genuine path to a live brokerage account with free daily coaching that most firms charge for, and backs it with support that reviewers consistently name as the best in the space. The consistency rules demand discipline, but the firm teaches exactly that. How We Determine The Best Firms
In our comprehensive reviews of proprietary trading firms, we evaluate a wide range of factors to provide traders with a complete picture. We start by examining the company’s background, including its founding, leadership, and overall reputation in the industry. We then delve into the account types and sizes offered, along with the specific evaluation processes and trading conditions.
This includes analyzing profit targets, drawdown rules, and any restrictions on trading hours or instruments. We closely examine the profit-splitting structure, payout speeds, and withdrawal policies, as well as any commissions charged. The pricing model for both evaluation and funded accounts is scrutinized, including any additional fees for data feeds or platforms. We assess the trading platforms supported, any educational resources provided, and the quality of customer support. Scaling opportunities and unique features that set each firm apart are highlighted.
We also consider the overall user experience, the company’s transparency in its rules and risk disclosures, and the firm’s reputation among traders, often referencing Trustpilot scores or other review aggregators.
Our reviews aim to give traders a thorough understanding of what each prop firm offers, enabling them to make informed decisions based on their individual trading needs and preferences.
